Australian music comes of age… and comes out

It seems like that Australian music has had some sort of inferiority complex for awhile. For instance, for years, the ARIA Awards nights have had guests from overseas to boost the drawing power.

What seismic event would make our industry realise (or at least consider) that we’re just as strong as our foreign counterparts?

The outing and subsequent denial of Australian Idol’s season 2 runner up, Anthony Callea matches the outing and subsequent denial of Clay Aiken. (article about outing of Callea)

Isn’t everyone happy now (or at least gay)?
